
THE FACE BEHIND THE BRAND
Lydia successfully completed her bA Honours, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Media Makeup in Fashion from the University of Salford. Following her dreams, she moved to London to pursue a full time freelance career in hair and makeup.
Lydia’s has always had an appreciation for the creative arts, a passion that led Lydia towards studying an Art GCSE and an A Level Art, where her creativity and abilities flourished. During her gap year, Lydia’s excitement and enthusiasm for makeup artistry was found when she began working for the highly acclaimed fashion makeup brand Illamasqua, leading her to land work experience on a BBC Learning production. Her newfound experiences provided her with the encouragement to apply for her degree in Media Makeup in Fashion and allowed her to continue to gain the knowledge required to pursue a career within the make-up industry.

Following on from this, her fascination and talent in artistry thrived and provided her with the confidence to apply for a new role within NARS Cosmetics, where she was very successful in receiving a promotion to a senior make-up artistry position within the company. With her creativity thriving, she has applied her understanding and knowledge of both art and makeup into all of her work; she has created and designed numerous shoots independently, from costume and fashion to hair styling and makeup application. As of late 2021, Lydia decided to take the plunge and move to London to pursue her dream career of becoming a full time hair and makeup artist, which lead to working with brands like ASOS, Yours Clothing and PUMA. As well as being a part of multiple teams at London Fashion Week, assisting in shows such as Ozwald Boateng, Huishan Zhang and Patrick McDowell.

Lydia’s main source of inspiration comes from artists such as Jenny Saville, Hung Vanngo and Francois Nars – all of whom are diverse and individual, which has inspired Lydia’s own personal style of artistry. Lydia’s ultimate career goal is to become a hair makeup designer and creative director; her dream is to encourage other artists to express individuality and creativity through art.
